OFA and PennHIP Testing are radiographic screening tools to help evaluate dogs for hip dysplasia and other orthopedic conditions. Each is a series of radiographs that our veterinary team is specially trained to perform. These methods help assess hip conformation at an earlier age and can help predict the risk of osteoarthritis. PennHip radiographs can be done as early as 16 weeks of age. OFA radiographs are typically done when a pet is 24 months of age or older. PennHIP and OFA radiographs require light sedation to be performed.
